Our integration gives you three steps for your campaign work flows.

SurveyMonkey Create/Update Contacts

The SurveyMonkey Create/Update Contacts step generates a URL you can use to send your survey. This URL can also be found your collector list in your SurveyMonkey account. You can send your survey using the Eloqua Email step. You can connect this step to other steps in your flow to move contacts through your campaign.

Learn more about configuring this step below.

§ Select a Survey

Select a survey. The survey you select should contain questions that collect the contact information you want to sync with Eloqua. At minimum your survey needs to collect an email address. The integration looks for existing contacts in Eloqua by email address and creates a new contact if none is found.

Save time by adding SurveyMonkeys Contact Information Question.

By default this step creates a new SurveyMonkey collector, but you have the option to select an existing one.

ë Map Survey Fields to Eloqua Contact Fields

Field Mapping

Map a survey field to an Eloqua contact fields by clicking Add a Mapping Row. For example, select the survey question that asks for an email address and map it to Email Address. Continue to add mappings until you've mapped all contact fields.

Hidden Mapping

If you want to map a static value to your contact each time a response comes in, click Add Mapping Row in the Hidden Field Mappings table, enter your value, and select which field to map it to. For example, if your survey is used to collect contacts interested in a particular product, you can enter that product's name or code and map it to Product/Solution of Interest. You can add as many hidden mappings as needed.

Overwriting Fields for Existing Contacts

If you want your survey to let existing contacts update their information, click Overwrite existing fields when mapping. If you don't select this option, when an existing contact fills out your survey, we'll only fill in contact fields that previously had no stored information.

í Map Survey Fields to Eloqua Custom Data Object Fields (OPTIONAL)

You can save survey metadata and responses in a custom data object (CDO). You can edit your CDO's name, field labels, and the data type for the field. By default, all survey metadata is included in your CDO. To remove a particular metadata field, click the trashcan icon next to it.

To map survey responses to a CDO, click Add CDO Field and select the question you want to map.

ì Batch Syncs From SurveyMonkey
You can batch your syncs and SurveyMonkey will periodically sync new responses to your contacts rather than syncing once per response. Batching syncs save on API calls but delays data up to thirty minutes.

SurveyMonkey Send Survey

This step sends emails through SurveyMonkey's email invitation tool to send surveys that create and update contacts in Eloqua and, if desired, store responses in a Custom Data Object (CDO).

Learn more about configuring this step below.

§ Select a Survey

Select the survey you'd like to send email invites for. By default this step creates a new SurveyMonkey collector, but you have the option to select an existing one.

TIP! If you want to customize your email message, login to your Surveymonkey account. Create a new Email Invitation collector for your survey, and send it to yourself. Then, in Eloqua, you can select that custom message to use as your template.
ë Map Fields to SurveyMonkey Contact Fields

By default, your Eloqua contact fields for email, first name, and last name are already mapped to SurveyMonkey for you. You don't need to do anything unless you'd like to remove a field, change the mapping, or map to a custom data field.

At minimum you need to have an email address mapped to SurveyMonkey so we can send your survey. You can map up to six custom data fields by clicking Add Mapping Row.

Use the hidden field mapping table if you want to set a static value and pass it to a contact field in SurveyMonkey.

For example, select the survey question that asks for a company and map it to Company. Continue to add mappings until you've mapped all necessary contact fields.

If you don't select the Overwrite existing fields when mapping option, only fields that were previously empty in Eloqua will be updated.

You can add as many hidden mappings as needed.

ì Map Survey Fields to Eloqua Custom Data Object Fields (OPTIONAL)

Automatically move contacts to the next campaign step: When selected, all contacts move directly through to the next step of your campaign regardless of if they ever respond to your survey. Otherwise, contacts only move to the next step when they've completed your survey.

This step lets you export your Eloqua contacts into SurveyMonkey. Learn more about managing your contacts in SurveyMonkey.

Configuring this Step
