GetFeedback

Getting Started with GetFeedback for Salesforce

Get started using GetFeedback with Salesforce.

  • Mappings: A way to send survey responses to Salesforce. GetFeedback Mappings allow you to push data using our managed package or send responses to standard or custom objects.
  • Merge fields: A way to associate metadata and variables from your CRM, such as Salesforce, to your survey responses. You can use merge fields to associate data from Salesforce, such as Case ID or Account Name, with your responses.

Invite any team members to your GetFeedback account. Once you’ve added your team, manage Salesforce permissions for each team member. Team administrators can choose who has permission to use Salesforce features in GetFeedback.

Learn more about team management.

To set up a team, your administrator needs to:

  1. Add team members.
  2. Add Salesforce connections. It’s best for administrators to create connections and share them with team members later.
  3. Grant team members permission to use the connections.

Connect GetFeedback to your Salesforce environment. You can connect to both sandbox and production environments. You can have multiple connections, depending on your plan type.
Your connection is tied to your Salesforce account.

It’s best to set up connections using a Salesforce administrator’s account. Learn more about recommended Salesforce permissions

Once you set up your connections, the team administrator can share them with others. Team administrators can determine who can use each connection for their surveys.

Make sure your Salesforce environment is ready to receive data from GetFeedback.

  • Choose where you want to store your survey data in Salesforce - a standard object (like Contact or Case) or a custom object. This helps you decide what type of mappings to create.
  • Set up your object and fields for mapping. Make sure to enable Create, Read, Update, and Delete permissions for the objects and fields you want to map to. We can’t map data to read-only objects and fields.

Connect your survey to your Salesforce environment. This allows you to use special Salesforce question types in your survey, if desired.

Create your survey. Add questions, set up logic, and customize the theme. Administrators can also add branding to the survey.

Create mappings to send your survey data back to Salesforce. When someone submits a survey response, we’ll send survey data to Salesforce based on the mapping option you choose. You can use this data to keep records up to date and build reports in Salesforce.

You can use our managed package or create your own custom mappings.

  • Managed mapping: Once the managed package has been installed to your Salesforce org, your survey responses will automatically push to the Survey, Response, Answer objects on our managed package. This option is best if you want to map survey titles, questions, and responses to Salesforce. Learn how to use managed mapping
  • Custom mapping: Map responses to standard and custom objects in Salesforce. You can create new records, update existing ones, create Salesforce task records, and more. This option is best if you have specific use cases for survey data, but the setup may take more time and resources. Learn how to use custom mapping
