Creating a Survey | ||||
To collect responses using offline mode, first you'll need to create a new survey. If your survey uses any incompatible features, you’ll be prompted to remove them before moving forward. Once you've created a survey, share the survey with anyone who will be collecting responses. This allows them to download the survey in the SurveyMonkey Anywhere app. Incompatible Features

Turning on Offline Mode |
To turn on offline mode, first you need to create a Kiosk Survey Collector and validate your survey to make sure it will work offline. To create a Kiosk Survey collector:
Once offline mode is turned on, your survey is locked and you won’t be able to make edits to it. You'll need to turn off offline mode to edit your survey. |
Using SurveyMonkey Anywhere |
Once you're logged in to the SurveyMonkey Anywhere app, you can download a survey to use offline and collect responses without an internet connection, manage responses, then upload them back to SurveyMonkey once you have internet access. Collecting Responses
You need to be the survey owner, or the survey owner needs to share the survey with you, and your device needs to be connected to the internet to download the survey. To download a survey:
Once your survey is downloaded, you can disconnect from the internet and start collecting responses by tapping the title of the survey. Managing Responses
You can view the Completion Status, Collector Name, Last Entry Date/Time and Time Spent for any collected responses, and edit or delete survey responses while disconnected from the internet. To edit or delete a survey response:
Tap Edit to reopen the survey and edit responses, or tap Delete to remove the response from your device. Uploading Responses
Your device needs to be connected to the internet to upload the survey responses you collected in offline mode. To upload responses to SurveyMonkey:
When you upload responses, they're permanently deleted from the device and moved into the Analyze section of your survey in SurveyMonkey. You can continue to collect more responses, or tap å to remove the survey from your device. |
Turning Off Offline Mode |
To turn off offline mode, you’ll need to close any open Kiosk Survey collectors. To close a collector:
When you select Flag to Close, everyone who downloaded the survey to the SurveyMonkey Anywhere app is prompted to upload their responses to SurveyMonkey. Once all responses are uploaded, the collector closes automatically. When you select Close Now, your collector will be closed immediately and anyone answering the survey in the app may be interrupted and unable to complete their response. Any responses that haven’t already been uploaded to SurveyMonkey are permanently deleted. |
