Analyze with AI helps you find key insights and trends in your survey data by responding to your questions with charts and insight summaries.

With Analyze with AI, you can:

Uncover insights based on responses, timeframes, and more in seconds
Ask for comparisons, or information about specific segments
Visualize data points based on your results
Export and share any charts that Analyze with AI creates for you

How it works: Analyze with AI helps you segment, summarize, and visualize your survey responses to quickly gather insights. It doesn’t modify anything in your survey, such as applying filters to responses on the page, editing charts, or building dashboards. It draws insights from all of your results, regardless of any filters you’ve applied.

What it can analyze: Analyze with AI can analyze these question types and data:

Multiple choice
Checkbox
Dropdown
NPS
Star Rating
Comment Box (if responses are tagged)
Single Text Box (if responses are tagged)
Basic demographic information (for surveys sent via SurveyMonkey Audience)

How to analyze Comment Box and Single Text Box: Analyze with AI can only analyze open-ended text responses if they’re tagged. If you have access to Sentiment Analysis or Thematic Analysis, Analyze with AI can generate sentiments and themes for deeper insights into open-ended responses. You’ll also see any tags or themes that Analyze with AI created on the Question Summaries page. Analyze with AI also supports existing tags that you’ve created via Sentiment Analysis, Thematic Analysis, rule-based tagging, or manual tagging.

Survey Requirements

Analyze with AI is available for surveys that meet these requirements:

The survey language is in English
Your survey has between 1 and 10,000 responses

Limitations

Analyze with AI can’t answer questions about your account or offer product support.
Analyze with AI can’t answer questions about logic, advanced branching, or piping that have been applied to your survey. The feature may not be able to answer questions about complex custom variables or custom data added to your collectors.
Analyze with AI can’t answer questions about “Other” textbox responses from Multiple Choice, Checkboxes, and Star Rating Scale question types.

Feature Availability and Settings

Analyze with AI is only available to some customers in supported regions.

The way you access this feature depends on your plan:

Individual plans: If Analyze with AI is available for your plan, you can access it at any time.
Teams and Enterprise plans: Your Primary Admin determines whether your team can access Analyze with AI. For details on the terms that apply to the use of this feature, please see our Self-Serve AI Service-Specific Terms and SurveyMonkey Enterprise Service-Specific Terms.
HIPAA and Enhanced Sensitive Data Protection: Analyze with AI isn’t available to HIPAA-enabled accounts, or those with the Enhanced Sensitive Data Protection feature enabled.

Additionally, based on your plan type, Analyze with AI may set limitations on the number of questions available per survey.

Analyze with AI is also subject to fair use of the feature, so your account may be temporarily disabled if we notice abnormal activity.

How Your Data is Processed

Analyze with AI uses Azure Open AI service or Open AI to generate insights about your survey. Your content isn’t used to train these third party providers’ models. Learn more about how this feature processes your data.

Don’t include sensitive or personal information in your questions – you are responsible for the information you enter in Analyze with AI. Analyze with AI’s answers may have limitations based on the survey data or how you phrased your questions. Review the results carefully. Use of this feature is subject to additional terms, as described in our Service-Specific Terms.

Using Analyze with AI

To use Analyze with AI:

Go to the Analyze Results section of your survey.
To include open-text questions in your analysis, make sure to tag text responses. If you have access to Sentiment Analysis or Thematic Analysis, Analyze with AI can tag your responses for you. You can also use rule-based tagging or manual tagging.
Select Analyze with AI in the top right corner of the Question Summaries page.
If you don’t see the Analyze with AI option, the feature isn’t available for your survey or account.
Accept the terms and conditions.
Type your question, or select View suggestions and select a suggested question.
Select Send to ask your question.

Understanding and Rating Answers

Analyze with AI provides a text explanation in each answer. Some answers include a chart or table. Hover over the info icon below the chart to learn how Analyze with AI got this result. You can also see the survey questions that Analyze with AI used for its answer.

You can rate the answer to let us know if it was helpful or accurate. Select the thumbs up or thumbs down button to rate the answer. You can also leave a comment about your negative rating or submit your feedback via the feedback form.

Your ratings help us improve Analyze with AI and provide more relevant answers in the future.
