| AI features to create a survey, including Build with AI and Paste Content using AI | This setting turns on features that help you build and improve your survey. These features allow SurveyMonkey customers to create surveys assisted by generative AI, utilizing the OpenAI service. To provide survey creation features, your survey prompts and an encrypted user ID are shared with the OpenAI service. The third-party provider doesn't use this data to train its model. |
| Sentiment Analysis | Sentiment Analysis uses our proprietary machine learning models to classify text responses as positive, negative, or neutral. |
| Response Quality | Response Quality uses our proprietary machine learning models to scan your survey data and flag low-quality responses. |
| Survey Insights, including Analyze with AI and Insights | This setting turns on features that help you get insights into your survey. These features use OpenAI to deliver insights. When you use these features, your survey data—including survey title, survey questions, and response data—are shared with OpenAI to generate insights about your survey. Any questions or prompts you enter are shared with OpenAI. The third-party provider doesn’t use this data to train its model. |
| Thematic Analysis | SurveyMonkey's Thematic Analysis feature uses AI to analyze, group, and summarize your open-ended responses. The feature processes your question and response text using a combination of a self-hosted Anthropic model and OpenAI. Your data isn't used to train any of these providers' AI models. We also mask common data types, like phone numbers and social security numbers, to reduce exposure of potentially sensitive data. |
