After you create your survey and name it, build your survey by adding questions, editing question options, and styling your survey.
To edit existing questions, just click on the question preview to make changes. You may run into restrictions when you edit questions that have collected responses or edit Question bank questions.
No matter how you start your survey, build your survey in either our:
Review info on where you’re building and editing your survey for info on that editing experience.
From the Design Survey section, the Build menu shows our Most Popular questions. Select View more to see all questions, elements, and options.
To add a question, page element, and survey option to your survey:
Besides the Build tab, you can Copy to create a duplicate question to customize and save in your survey. Or, hover over a question to Move it to a different place in your survey.
You can select from the Question bank to use pre-written, expert-designed questions that can be benchmarked, so you can compare your results to industry averages.
Answer Genius may assist you in choosing the right question to use if your account is in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, or Dutch. We analyze your question text as you type it, we recommend a question type, and update the question editor.
Select Style to fine-tune the look and feel of your survey using our Style and branding settings and Themes.
Select Preview survey to test how the survey respondent experience is, so you can catch any errors or logic issues.
If you start your survey from scratch from Home, you draft a single page, 10-question or less survey, review and use industry or use case recommendations. You can Finalize your survey draft, adjust your survey’s tone, apply a theme, and quickly Publish your survey.
The lightweight editing experience is designed to create shorter, simpler surveys, where you can review and polish them within one screen.
Once a Title, Description, or question is drafted, add questions and edit it by hovering over a question or page element. Select the field to edit it and use the WYSIWYG editor and options that appear on hover.
You can Go to full editor at any time to seamlessly access all SurveyMonkey question types, page elements, and survey options, and Logic—with all features available on your plan.
Review our Standard themes and choose one. Scroll through your on-screen survey preview and either Accept change to apply a theme or Undo to return to the previous theme. Your chosen theme name displays once selected.
