Add and Edit Questions to Build your Survey

After you create your survey and name it, finish building your survey by adding or editing questions or question options, and styling your survey.

No matter how you created your survey, you can build your survey fully in either our:

  • Lightweight editor—Designed for short, simple surveys, you can interact with the chat or select from streamlined options to build your survey, adjust it's tone, apply a theme, and quickly publish to gather responses.
  • Classic editor—This always-available editor offers SurveyMonkey's full Design survey, classic features.

You may run into restrictions when you edit questions that have collected responses or are Question bank questions.

Check out more info under the type of editor you’re using.
