Sharing Surveys in Facebook Messenger

You need to sign in to your SurveyMonkey account before you can create a survey. That way the survey you create in Messenger is also stored in your SurveyMonkey account.

To unlink your SurveyMonkey account from the bot, simply enter "log out" into the SurveyMonkey chat window in Messenger.

If you unlink your account, don't worry—all your surveys still work, so people can keep taking your surveys and their survey responses are still recorded in your SurveyMonkey account.

Facebook does't pass any identifying information to SurveyMonkey except the survey responses, even when Anonymous Responses is turned off. If you want to be able to track who responded to your survey, you can include a question allowing respondents to identify themselves. Since people are taking the survey in Messenger, Facebook may have access to the responses—please see Facebook's Data Policy for additional information.

If you have a HIPAA-enabled account, it's not possible to share surveys in Messenger. This is to make sure all data remains secure and in SurveyMonkey. If you share a survey in Messenger and then enable HIPAA in your account, we'll permanently close all Messenger collectors and unlink your accounts if they were linked.
