Using Zapier with SurveyMonkey
Zapier allows you to integrate SurveyMonkey with hundreds of other apps to automate tasks in your workflow. You can use SurveyMonkey triggers, actions, and searches to:
- Trigger each time a new survey response comes in
- Trigger when your survey get a certain kind of answer
- Set up an action that sends a survey
- Set up an action that adds a contact to your SurveyMonkey contact list
Below are some popular ways to use SurveyMonkey with Zapier.
You can use Zapier to trigger a custom email for each and every new response.
This zap offers lots of opportunity for customization:
- Insert answer text from SurveyMonkey into the subject and body of the email.
- Send notifications to multiple email addresses.
- Only trigger a notification when a response meets certain criteria.
- Only trigger a notification when a certain collector receives a new response.
You can choose to send emails from a zapiermail.com address, connect your Gmail account, or connect your email account using SMTP.
SurveyMonkey lets you send confirmation emails to survey takers who complete a survey sent through our Email Invitation collector. But if you're sending your survey another way, use Zapier to send custom email confirmations.
If you're using Zapier, add a Single Textbox question, validated for email address format, to ask for someone's email address. In the question prompt, you may want to also say why you're asking for this personal info.
When you configure your zap in Zapier, simply insert the email address field from your survey into the To field.

You can add new responses to a Google spreadsheet that dynamically updates as you gather more responses.
Before setting this up in Zapier, create a new spreadsheet in Google Sheets with column headers in Row 1, and one row of sample data under each column header in Row 2. You can make the column headers say whatever you want. When you create the zap, you can decide which SurveyMonkey responses you want to insert into each column.

- Only add responses from a certain collector.
- Only add responses that meet certain criteria.
If you ask respondents to enter their email address in your survey, you can add those responses to an existing list in Mailchimp to keep in touch with those contacts. In your survey, we suggest using a Single Textbox question, validated for email address format.
When you configure your zap in Zapier, simply insert the email address field from your survey into the Email field in Zapier.
