Clearing or Deleting Responses

You can delete individual responses, all the responses from a collector, or all the responses for an entire survey. If you delete responses from a shared survey, they're also deleted from any accounts with shared access.

If you have a Basic (free) plan, the number of responses your account can have and delete depends on when your account was created and your billing location. For example, you may be able to delete 40 or 50 responses total from your account.

Deleting responses is permanent. Once you delete them, they can't be restored.

Deleting Individual Responses
TIP! Create a filter to hide incomplete responses instead of deleting them. When the response status is Incomplete, the survey may be in progress.
To permanently delete responses in Table view:
1. Go to the Analyze Results section of your survey.
2. Click the Individual Responses tab toward the top of the page.
3. In Table view, find the response you want to delete.
4. Click the Delete button on the right side of the table.
5. At the confirmation message, click Delete Response.
To permanently delete responses in Single view:
1. Go to the Analyze Results section of your survey.
2. Click the Individual Responses tab toward the top of the page.
3. In the top right corner, change the view from Table to Single.
4. Use the left and right arrows to locate the response you want to delete.
5. Click the Delete button in the upper-right corner of the response.
6. Click Delete response.
If you sent your survey via Email Invitation, the contact won't be deleted from the collector and their response status in the collector will not change.
Deleting All Responses from a Collector
To permanently delete all responses from a collector:
1. Go to the Collect Responses tab of your survey.
2. Click ... to the right of the collector.
3. Click Clear responses.

New Homepage Beta: If you’re seeing the new homepage experience and want to clear all responses from a survey, click the New Homepage toggle to access the Dashboard and My Surveys. It isn't possible to delete responses from a survey on the new homepage, yet.
To delete all responses for a survey:
1. From My Surveys, click ... to the right of the survey.
2. Click Clear responses.
To clear all responses from a survey shared with you, you need to clear each collector on the survey, one at a time, under the Collect Responses tab.
