You can’t format surveys using HTML, but you can use the rich text editor to format text, add images or videos, or hyperlink text.
We used to offer HTML formatting in our old design tool, so you might see HTML in some of your existing surveys if you’ve been a SurveyMonkey customer for awhile. But please be aware: if you edit a question that contains HTML, only some HTML tags are supported when you save your changes.
You can use some HTML in some areas of your survey:
Field | HTML allowed |
Email Invitation | The Custom HTML message format allows all HTML. |
Custom Thank You | This field allows simple HTML, so you can bold, underline, and italicize text. |
Custom Disqualification | This field allows simple HTML, so you can bold, underline, and italicize text. |
Survey Closed Message | This displays if a collector meets the Cutoff Date and Time, Response Limit, or you manually close a collector. The field allows simple HTML, so you can bold, underline, and italicize text. |
