GetFeedback

By default, GetFeedback does not collect IP addresses and location information in the application. You can turn on IP address collection to track the location of your survey takers.

To collect IP information when someone responds to your survey:

  1. Navigate to your My Surveys dashboard.
  2. Select your survey and go to Settings.
  3. Under Response Metadata, toggle the Store IP Address and Location option to ON.

You'll need to make this change for each survey where you'd like to collect IP address data for respondents.

It's not possible to view IP addresses for responses collected before tracking was turned on.

Your in-app Response report will now show the IP Address, Country Code, and Region Code for each new survey response.

You can map this information into your Salesforce instance or export it from GetFeedback.
When creating your mapping, you’ll choose Map a Response Attribute. Then, select any of the following options:

  • City
  • Country Name
  • Region Name
  • Postal Code
  • Time Zone Name
  • Time Zone Abbreviation
  • Time Zone Offset
  • Latitude
  • Longitude
  • In EU

Collecting IP address and location information can be useful to target respondents in a specific region. For example, this information can be used to send different questions to your survey takers in the EU than survey takers in the US.
