Instant Notifications

Instant notifications let you quickly see new survey responses by sending you an email each time a response is submitted. You can manage instant notifications in your collector settings and share them with others.

What Emails You Get

You’ll get an email each time a new response to your survey is submitted. The email has a link to view the individual response so you can see it without logging in to your SurveyMonkey account. The link stays active for 90 days after the notification is sent.

To receive notifications for multiple surveys, you'll need to turn on instant notifications for each one. Each person receiving receiving notifications can get a maximum of 20 instant notifications a day, across all surveys.

Setting Up Instant Notifications

Instant notifications are set up per individual survey.

To turn on instant notifications for a survey:

  1. Go to the Collect Responses section of your survey.
  2. Click Manage Notifications.
  3. Turn on instant notifications for yourself.

Sharing Instant Notifications with Others

You can share instant notifications with people in or outside of your team as long as you’re the survey owner.

To share instant notifications with others:

  1. Go to the Collect Responses section of your survey.
  2. Click Manage Notifications.
  3. Scroll to instant notifications and click Add.
  4. Enter the email addresses of the people you want to share instant notifications with. If you're in a team, you can also select team members from the list.
  5. Click Share.

When you share instant notifications with someone, they’ll get an email to let them know.

Stop Sharing Instant Notifications with Someone

To remove someone from receiving instant notifications for a survey:

  1. Go to the Collect Responses section of your survey.
  2. Click Manage Notifications.
  3. Scroll to instant notifications and click Recipients.
  4. Click # next to the people you want to remove.
  5. Click Done.

Opting Out

To stop receiving instant notifications, reach out to the survey owner and they can take you off the list. To find out who the survey owner is, look for the name listed in the instant notification email.
