Emails and Newsletters

We like sharing how you can get the most out of SurveyMonkey by emailing you about cool new features, interesting customer stories, and advice from expert survey methodologists—and you can easily manage the types of emails we send.

To manage your email and newsletter preferences:

  1. Click Unsubscribe at the bottom of an email. If you have an account, you can also sign in and go to My Account, then scroll down to Emails and Newsletters.
  2. Choose the types of emails you’d like to receive or unsubscribe from.
  3. Once you click Save, it may take up to 48 hours for the changes to go into effect.

If you have a SurveyMonkey account, we’ll continue to send you account-related emails. While you can manage some emails like Response Alerts, you will continue to receive other emails related to your account, like billing reminders, cancellation notices, and requests or invitations to access or comment on your surveys. These are service linked communications which you cannot opt out from if you wish to continue using our service.

Survey Invitations

Account holders are survey creators who can send survey invitations using Email Invitation to email addresses they add to their message. Each invitation includes an opt out link that lets you unsubscribe from that specific SurveyMonkey account. We can't facilitate a global opt out from all survey invitations originating from SurveyMonkey services, as we do not control or know how many of our account holders send you surveys at any given time.

If you have questions or concerns about being included on a sender's email list, you can reply to the email invitation you received to reach out to the sender directly. If you're concerned a message you received through SurveyMonkey may be spam, please review our Anti-Spam Policy to report a complaint.

Opt Back In You can opt in again to receive surveys from all users. Opting in is a global setting that refreshes all opt out preferences—it's not possible to opt in to a single account.

SurveyMonkey Contribute

If you receive emails from SurveyMonkey Contribute asking you to take surveys, you can choose to unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, you won’t get email invitations to take surveys, but you can still log in to Contribute to take surveys.

To unsubscribe from Contribute emails:

  1. Log in to your SurveyMonkey Contribute account.
  2. Click My Account in the upper right corner.
  3. Click Update notification settings.
  4. Click Unsubscribe from email invites.
  5. Complete the form and click Submit.
