Data security and privacy are built into the design of our AI and machine learning features.
AI features are included as part of the core SurveyMonkey experience. If you prefer not to use AI, you can still create, send, and analyze surveys as you always have without using these tools.
Some accounts may have additional AI feature settings available in their Admin dashboard. If your account has these settings, see Accounts with AI Feature Settings below for more details.

When you use Analyze with AI, your survey data, including survey title, survey questions, and response data are sent to the Azure OpenAI service or OpenAI to generate insights about your survey. Any questions or prompts you enter are shared with OpenAI or Azure OpenAI. These third-party providers do not use this data to train their models. |

| Thematic Analysis | SurveyMonkey's Thematic Analysis feature uses AI to analyze, group, and summarize your open-ended responses. The feature processes your question and response text using a combination of a self-hosted Anthropic model and Azure OpenAI or OpenAI. Your data isn't used to train any of these providers' AI models. We also mask common data types, like phone numbers and social security numbers, to reduce exposure of potentially sensitive data. |
