Within SurveyMonkey Apply, you can choose to hide or show tasks from certain applicants. You can do so manually for a specific applicant, or automatically if an applicant meets set conditions. This article will walk through how to Hide and Show tasks from applicants within the site.
Due to special circumstances, you may need to hide or show a task within an individual application. For example, for specific reasons, you do not require an applicant to complete one of your tasks and wish for them to proceed with the application without completion of the task. In this case, you would simply Hide the task for that submission, making the task no longer required.

If you wish to Hide or Show tasks on a more consistent basis, you can set up automations to perform this action.
For example, depending on an applicants response to a question we may or may not require that they request a recommendation through the site. This example will walk through how to correctly Hide and Show the task based on the applicant's response.
We use 2 automations complete this process in case the applicant should re-enter the application form and change their response.
Additionally, we would also recommend setting up prerequisites on the task and hiding the task until the prerequisites are met:
This will ensure that the task will be hidden until the applicant has completed the form and selected the correct response to the question.

If you have a case where two tasks are mutually exclusive from each other you can set up two automations similar to above, to hide and show the two applicable tasks.
NOTE: For this example, we refer to the use of the Verify Charity Status task, where we have one task to verify Canadian charities, and another to verify US charities.
