Zoom Integration

ENTERPRISE FEATURE: If you're interested in an Enterprise plan, contact sales. This feature is only available in English at this time.

SurveyMonkey's Zoom integration lets you get real-time input from people attending your Zoom meeting. You can do a multi-question survey or a single-question poll directly in the Zoom meeting to capture feedback in the moment. You can share the results during the meeting or review them later in your SurveyMonkey account.

Creating and Sending a Survey During a Zoom Meeting

You can send a survey in meetings with up to 100 attendees. Only the meeting organizer can create and send surveys during the meeting. Polls and surveys you set up in Zoom will be available to use during meetings. It's not possible to use surveys created in your SurveyMonkey account in the Zoom integration.

To create and send your survey or poll:

  1. Start a Zoom meeting and click the Apps icon at the bottom of the meeting screen and open the SurveyMonkey app in the side panel.
  2. Click +New.
  3. Choose between:
    • Create poll: Ask attendees 1 question.
    • Create survey: Ask attendees multiple questions.
    • Start from template: Choose from pre-written poll or survey templates.
  4. Select the question type you want to use, then write your questions and answer choices. When making a survey with multiple questions, click Add more questions.
  5. Click Set options. You can make the survey anonymous, set a time limit, or automatically share results with attendees.
  6. Click Share survey at the bottom of the page.
  7. Click the blue Share app icon in the upper-right corner to alert attendees to open the app and take the survey. You can share the app anytime during the meeting.
  8. Now, attendees will be able to take the survey in the meeting. Depending on the options you set, the survey will close automatically after the timer counts down or the meeting organizer can close it manually at any time.
  9. Click Share to share the results with the attendees or Done if you want results to be private.

You can resend a poll or survey you created in a past Zoom meeting, however you won’t be able to edit any of the questions or answer choices. If you choose to share results from a survey that has responses from a previous meeting, only results from this meeting will be displayed to attendees.

You can see results from all previous meetings combined in your SurveyMonkey account on the survey's Analyze Results page. Each time you share the survey in a meeting, a new collector is created. To see each meeting's results separately, set up a filter by collector.

Available Question Types

You can use the following question types for your survey or poll:

  • Checkboxes
  • Comment Box
  • Dropdown Menu
  • Multiple Choice
  • Single Text Box
  • Slider
  • Star Rating

What Attendees See

Meeting attendees don’t need to have a SurveyMonkey account to take a survey or view results, but they do need to be logged into Zoom. During the meeting, the organizer shares an invite to install the SurveyMonkey app. This also notifies attendees to open the SurveyMonkey app and take the survey. The survey opens in a panel on the right side of their Zoom meeting screen. If the survey isn't shared yet, attendees see a message to wait for the organizer to share the survey.

After attendees submit their response, a thank you message appears. If the organizer shares the results, the screen will refresh to display the results.
