PAID FEATURE: The file upload field is only available on paid plans.

Use the file upload field to let people attach files, like photos or resumes, to submit with their form.

Sample of the File Upload field type.

The file upload field lets people upload files up to a certain size per field and per form. Depending on your plan type, you can choose to increase the file size limit or form upload limit when you add the field.

Here are the size limit options:

SettingDefault Size LimitIncreased Size Limit
Max file size per field10 MB25 MB
Max file size limit per form (across multiple fields)20 MB100 MB

If someone tries to upload a file that's larger than the limit, an error message will tell them to decrease the file size and upload again.

You can add up to 20 file upload fields per form.

  • How to increase size limits

The File Upload field lets people upload most file types, except: HTML, EXE, DLL, PHP, PHP3, and PHPS

Files people submit with their entries are stored in your account and count towards your total storage limit. To see how much storage you're currently using, check your Account Usage in the Account Manager. To increase your file storage limit, upgrade your plan .

Once you reach your file storage limit, people trying to upload a file won't be able to—instead they'll see an error message.

They can still submit the rest of their entry, as long as the file upload field isn't required.

To free up storage and accept new file uploads, you can delete files directly from each entry in the Entry Manager, or from the File Manager. Deleting the file from either place will permanently delete it from your account.

To download a file attached to an entry:

  1. Go to the Entry Manager.
  2. Click an entry from the table.
  3. Click the file name to download it to your computer.

TIP! If you've set up notification emails for your form, you can download files from your inbox without having to log in to Wufoo.

Files submitted through the file upload field can be downloaded in bulk or individually from the File Manager.
