Adding Tables

You can use the advanced rich text editor to add a table to your survey in the following supported fields:

To add a table:

Click the ... icon in the rich text editor to open the advanced rich text editor.
Click the table icon and then Insert table.
Drag your cursor over the grid to choose the dimensions of the table and click to insert it. You can create a table as large as 10 x 10 cells. If you need to add more, you can insert additional rows or columns after you add the table.
Click and drag any corner of the table to resize it and make it easier to add text into each cell.
Enter text in the cells.

Editing Tables

You may need a basic understanding of HTML to use some table options.

Properties control the appearance of the table as a whole, an individual row in the table, or an individual cell in the table.

Table Properties

Table properties control the appearance of the table as a whole.

To edit table properties:

Option	Description
Width	The width of the table, in pixels.
Height	The height of the table, in pixels.
Cell spacing	The space between cells, in pixels.
Cell padding	The space between the cell wall and the cell content, in pixels.
Border	The width of the border around the perimeter of the table, in pixels.
Caption	Inserts a center-aligned caption cell above the table.
Alignment	The horizontal alignment of the table within the survey page—left, center, or right.
Style	Enter style attributes to apply inline CSS to this table.
Border color	The color of the border around the perimeter of the table.
Background color	The background color of the entire table.

Cell Properties

Cell properties control the appearance of an individual cell in the table.

To edit cell properties:

Property	Description
Width	The width of the cell, in pixels.
Height	The height of the cell, in pixels.
Cell Type	Header: Designates the cell as a header cell for the row or column. Text in the cell is bold and center-aligned. Cell: A normal data cell in the table.
Scope	Associates this header cell with a specific set of data cells. Row: This cell provides header information for the rest of the row that contains it. Col: This cell provides header information for the rest of the column that contains it. Row group: This header cell provides header information for the rest of the row group that contains it. Column group: This header cell provides header information for the rest of the column group that contains it.
H Align	The horizontal alignment of the text within the cell—left, center, or right.
V Align	The vertical alignment of the text within the cell—top, middle or bottom.
Style	Enter style attributes to apply inline CSS to this cell.
Border color	The color of the border around the individual cell.
Background color	The background color of the individual cell.

Row Properties

Row properties control the appearance of an individual row in the table.

To edit row properties:

Property	Description
Row type	The row type indicates what type of content the row contains: Header: Adds a thead tag around the row or rows to group them as the header content of the table. Body: Adds a tbody tag around the row or rows to group them as the body content of the table. Footer: Adds a tfoot tag around the row or rows to group them as the footer content of the table.
Alignment	The horizontal alignment of the text within every cell in the row—left, center, or right.
Height	The height of the row, in pixels.
Style	Enter style attributes to apply inline CSS to this row.
Border color	The color of the border around the perimeter of this row.
Background color	The background color of every cell in this row.

Merging cells combines two or more cells together. Splitting cells breaks aparted merged cells.

Merging Cells
To merge cells:
1. Select the ... icon in the rich text editor to open the advanced editor.
2. Select and drag to highlight the cells you want to merge.
3. Select the Table icon.
4. Select Cell.
5. Select Merge cells.
Splitting Cells
To split a cell:
1. Select the ... icon in the rich text editor to open the advanced editor.
2. Select the cell you want to split.
3. Select the Table icon.
4. Select Cell.
5. Select Split cell.

Insert or delete rows and columns, or delete the entire table.

Adding, Moving, or Deleting Rows

To insert, move, or delete a row:

Choose one of the following options from the menu.

Option	Description
Insert row before	Inserts a new row above the row that's currently selected.
Insert row after	Inserts a new row below the row that's currently selected.
Delete row	Deletes the row that's currently selected.
Cut row	Removes the row that's currently selected and adds it to your clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere in the table.
Copy row	Adds the row to your clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere in the table.
Paste row before	Inserts a cut or copied row above the row that's currently selected.
Paste row after	Inserts a cut or copied row below the row that's currently selected.

Adding or Deleting Columns

Deleting a Table
To delete a table:
1. Select the ... icon in the rich text editor to open the advanced editor.
2. Select the table to select it.
3. Select the Table icon.
4. Select Delete table.

Option	Description
Insert column before	Inserts a new column to the left of the column that's currently selected.
Insert column after	Inserts a new column to the right of the column that's currently selected.
Delete column	Deletes the column that's currently selected.
