This article will outline the accepted file formats of each task in your site. The accepted formats can be customized by you as an administrator in some tasks to suit the needs of your process. These formats can be altered within the Options (or File Options) tab of the Document/Image, Portfolio, and Attach File tasks listed below.
When a user attaches a Word Document and an Excel spreadsheet it will remain available within the site in its original format. Therefore, it can be downloaded from the site and viewed within Word or Excel. It will not be converted within the site or viewable internally within the system. If this is a process you require we would recommend restricting the attachments to PDF to ensure the file can be viewed online.
In the case that you wish for your students to attach a video as a file, there are two available formats that are accepted.
NOTE: Using the Linked Media attach type, you can have your applicants copy a link to their YouTube/Vimeo media instead.

Within the task settings, you can enable either of these formats or both if necessary. After the audio file is attached, click on the file to open it in a new tab.
This attachment type allows you to collect videos from your applicants that are stored in an outside source. The two formats available are:
Applicants will be able to link their YouTube/Vimeo media to this task in order for the media to be considered with their application.
When it comes to file sizes we typically suggest a maximum file size of 1000MB. The smaller the file size, the faster it will be to attach the file and view it on the site. Within your attach a file tasks you can set restrictions on the file sizes users can attach. Having restrictions will ensure that the users don't exceed these limits. Files that are too large may experience difficulties while attaching or downloading the file in the site.
If you do require users to attach larger file sizes, you will just need to be aware that this can affect the download speed when you are attempting to download applications from the site. You will want to download the applications in smaller increments, to ensure no issues or timeouts arise during the download process.
