Applicant tasks are the optional and required tasks to be completed by the applicant in order for their application to be complete and successful throughout the application process.
Tasks are added on the program level.
To add a new applicant task:
Within an Application Stage, you need applicant tasks for your applicants to be able to complete within your site.
To add a task:
NOTE: Task settings have some minor differences depending on the task type. To see a description of the available application task settings by task, see Applicant Task Types.
A task can be edited even if it is currently in use. The following steps can be followed to edit the settings of a task including its title, prerequisites, stage location, etc.

Task Type | Description |
Fill out a Form | Create a form to ask applications questions required for their application. |
Attach a File | Allow your applicants to attach supporting documents to their application. |
External Task | Allow your applicants to complete a part of the application externally from the site. Once the external process is complete the task can be 'marked as complete' manually or through Automations. |
Get a Recommendation | Allow your applicants to ask for a recommendation from an outside user. With this task, an email is sent to the recommender and an account is created for them. The recommender can then log in and complete the recommendation internally. |
Make a Payment | This task allows a user to pay to continue on in the application process. This is common for sites that charge an application or registration fee to apply. |
Verify Charity Status | Ask your applicants for their BN or EIN Registration numbers. |
