Shopify Integration

ENGLISH ONLY: This article is only available in English.

SurveyMonkey's Integration with Shopify lets you send SurveyMonkey surveys to your Shopify customers. You can send surveys directly or trigger them as part of a larger Shopify workflow. Either way you'll be able to view and analyze responses back in SurveyMonkey.

Install the integration from our App Directory and login to your SurveyMonkey account when prompted.

TIP! Need help getting started creating your survey? SurveyMonkey's Net Promoter Score (NPS) question lets you get a quick pulse on how your Shopify customers feel about your service. You can also create a new survey using one of our Survey Templates.

Sending Surveys Directly

The app adds SurveyMonkey's send survey option to the Bulk actions dropdown in your customers and orders lists. This lets you easily survey people who've made an order from your Shopify store or are in your customers list.

To send surveys directly to customers or orders:

  1. Select Customers from the Shopify navigation.
  2. Select one or more orders from your orders list or customers from your customer list that you'd like to survey.
  3. From the Bulk actions drop down menu select Send Survey.
  4. Click on the survey you'd like to send. If you're not sure which one you want, click Preview to view a preview of the survey in a new tab.
  5. If your survey already has an email collector, you can choose it by clicking on it. Or you can create a new one by clicking Create Collector and giving your new collector a name. If you're using a survey you'll be distributing somewhere else, creating a collector specifically for Shopify makes it easy to view your Shopify data separately when doing analysis.

Triggering Surveys in a Workflow

You can automatically trigger a survey to be sent each time an event happens in Shopify. For example, you can send a customer satisfaction survey each time an order is fulfilled.

To add a survey to a workflow:

  1. Select Apps from the Shopify navigation.
  2. Select SurveyMonkey from your Installed apps list.
  3. Click on the Event Triggers tile.
  4. Click Create New Trigger and select the Shopify Trigger you'd like to have trigger your survey.
  5. Click on the survey you'd like to send when your trigger happens. If you're not sure which one you want, you can click Preview to open the survey in preview window in another tab.
  6. If your survey already has an email collector, you can choose it by clicking on it. Or you can create a new one by clicking Create Collector and giving your new collector a name. If you're using a survey you'll be distributing somewhere else, creating a collector specifically for Shopify makes it easy to look at your Shopify data separately when doing analysis.
  7. Preview your survey's design and if everything looks good, click Submit at the bottom of the page.

Viewing Survey History

You can view the success and error logs of a survey triggered by a Shopify Event. From your event triggers list, click History next to the event type you'd like to view.

Deactivating Surveys

To stop triggering your survey after an event:

  1. Select Apps from the Shopify navigation.
  2. Select SurveyMonkey from the Installed apps list.
  3. Click on the Event Triggers tile.
  4. Click Delete next to the event trigger you no longer want to send your survey.
  5. Click Deactivate to confirm.
