SurveyMonkey

Breaking your survey into multiple pages can help you organize a longer survey into manageable chunks so respondents feel they are making progress as they take it, and every time they go to the next page, their partial responses get saved.

There are a few options to break your survey up into multiple pages:

  • Add an Intro page to the beginning of your survey,
  • Add a New page to the end of the survey, or
  • Add a Page break to split up your questions into multiple pages.

From the bottom of the Build menu on the Design Survey tab, you can drag and drop these page elements into the appropriate spot within your survey. Or, on your survey design preview, there are buttons to + Page break between questions and + New Page at the end of each survey page. If you're using a touch screen, you may not see the + Page break button.

At the top of any survey page, the More Actions menu offers the following options:

ActionDescription
Copy pageDuplicate the page and choose where to place it in the survey. All of the questions on the page are copied, but logic such as Page skip logic or Page randomization are not applied to the copied version (unless Page randomization is applied to all questions in the survey).
Move pageMove the page to another position in the survey. Any Page skip logic and Page randomization will remain applied to the page, so make sure to test the logic paths thoroughly before sending to respondents.
Edit page infoEdit the Page title and Page description.
Delete pageRemove the page from your survey. You can choose to delete all its questions, or move them to the previous or next page.

Click + Page Title directly at the top of any page in your survey design to add a page title or description.

If you want to hide Page titles, disable the toggle in from the Options menu—the Page title will be hidden, however the Page description continues to display. If you don't want the Page description to display on your survey, make sure that field is empty.

You can choose to show or hide page numbers from the Options menu.

Click Page Logic at the top of any page to apply Page skip logic, Question randomization, or Page randomization.
