Viewing a Specific Comment in the Analysis

Comments or open-ended responses refer to the text-based answers provided by your respondents. These text fields allow respondents to provide open-ended feedback, share additional information about a choice they selected, or provide an alternative answer if the available choices do not apply to them.

Question TypeDescription
Comment BoxPeople can respond with a longer, open-ended text answer.
Single TextboxPeople can respond with a short text or numerical answer.
Multiple TextboxesCollect multiple short text or numerical answers with a single question.
"Other" Textbox or Comment FieldAn additional field for closed-ended questions (like Multiple Choice), allowing people to provide additional information about their choice or offer an alternative answer.
Form QuestionsQuestions formatted specifically to collect Name, Email address, Phone, Address, and Date/Time.

To view comments from the Question Summaries tab:

  1. Go to the Analyze results section of your survey.
  2. In the Question summaries tab, scroll to a question with open-ended responses.
  3. Select Responses to show all comments for that question.
  4. Click View full response below any individual comment to see that specific respondent's complete set of answers to the rest of the questions in the survey.

To view comments from the Individual Responses tab:

  1. From Analyze results, go to the Individual responses tab.
  2. Switch to the Single response view.
  3. Use the left and right arrow buttons to browse through individual answer sets, including open-ended comments.
