Enterprise Global Settings

ENTERPRISE FEATURE: If you're interested in an Enterprise plan, contact sales.

Overview

Global Settings let Primary Admins set default collector options for their entire Enterprise team, control whether people can change these default selections, and restrict the types of collectors their team can use to send surveys.

The default settings are applied to all future collectors the team creates. Existing collectors—including recurring surveys—don't change, but can be edited to match the default settings.

Whether or not team members can change these settings in individual collectors depends on whether the default settings were locked in Settings or conflict within a web link collector.

Respondent Authentication

The Respondent Authentication setting on the web link collector is available to teams with SSO enabled. When Respondent Authentication is enabled, survey takers are required to log in through SSO to access the survey, and their responses are tracked with this SSO metadata.

Set the Team Default

Primary Admins can set the default Respondent Authentication collector option for all new web link collectors. SSO must be on to enable Respondent Authentication.

Once a default setting is selected, you can choose to lock it so no one on your team can change it.

To set the team default:

  1. Click your username in the upper-right corner and select My Team.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Under Respondent Authentication (Web Link Collector Only), toggle Set a team default.
  4. Toggle Turn Respondent Authentication on or off by default.
  5. (Optional) Check Lock default setting so no one on your team can change your preferred setting.

Anonymous Responses

The Anonymous Responses setting lets you control the level of anonymity for any collector type. Enabling this default setting helps enforce company policies or prevent users on the team from capturing info like Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Set the Team Default

Primary Admins can set the Anonymous Responses team default to one of the following:

  • Not anonymous—all available respondent info is included in results.
  • Partially anonymous—applies to Email Invitations only. Custom data is passed through to results, but all other respondent info is excluded. Any other collector types default to fully anonymous.
  • Fully anonymous—no respondent info is included in results.

Once a default setting is selected, you can choose to lock it so no one on your team can change it.

To set a team default:

  1. Click your username in the upper-right corner and select My Team.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Under the Anonymous Responses section, toggle Set a team default.
  4. Select a default anonymity setting—Not anonymous, Partially anonymous, or Fully anonymous.
  5. (Optional) Check Lock default setting so no one on your team can change your preferred setting.

Restrict Collector Types

ENTERPRISE ADD-ON: If you already have an Enterprise plan and are interested in this feature, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Restrict Collector Types lets Primary Admins choose the collector types your team can use to send surveys. If a collector type is disabled, your team will see it greyed out in the Collect Responses section.

Any existing and open collectors created before the default settings were made can be used until they're closed.

To set the available Collector Types:

  1. Click your username in the upper-right corner and select My Team.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Scroll to the Restrict Collector Types section.
  4. Uncheck the collector types you don't want your team to use.
  5. Select the collector types you do want your team to use. At least one collector type must be selected.

It isn't possible to disable the Targeted Audience collector.

What Your Team Will See

Collector Options

The team's default settings are automatically applied to new collectors. If the default setting is locked, team members can’t change the setting. If unlocked, team members can change it, but we recommend keeping the default selected by your Admin.

Anyone on the team can update existing collectors to match the team’s default preference, but if the default setting is locked, team members won't be able to change it back.

If the default settings for Respondent Authentication and Anonymous Responses are both On, the default options on web link collectors will update.

Available Collectors

Team members can see all collector types in the Collect Responses section. If a collector type is greyed out, it can't be used to send your survey because the Primary Admin disabled it.

Respondent Authentication & Anonymity

Because the Respondent Authentication feature always records the SSO profile information for everyone that takes the survey, responses can’t be anonymous when Respondent Authentication is turned on.

So, while you’re able to turn on both Respondent Authentication and Anonymous Responses by default in Global Settings, both of these settings won’t actually be reflected in new Web Link collectors your team creates. Instead, Respondent Authentication will remain turned on, and responses won’t be anonymous.

If Respondent Authentication is unlocked and Anonymous Responses is locked, people in your team can turn off Respondent Authentication, and the Anonymous Responses setting will automatically update to match the locked default setting.
