Image Choice is a simple, closed-ended question type that lets people select one or more image answers from a defined list of image choices. The images auto-format to look great on desktop or mobile.

Survey takers will see the images and captions with the survey question. By default people can choose one answer, but you can check the box to Allow more than one answer to this question (use checkboxes)to allow people to select more than one.

Steps to add the question to your survey:

  1. Go to the Design survey section.
  2. From the Build section, choose Image Choice.
  3. Enter the question text.
  4. In the answer fields, either upload your images or enter the URLs of images from the web. You can add up to 10 images per question.
  5. Set up any additional options and settings:
    • You can add image captions that will be visible to survey takers.
    • To make your image accessible for survey takers using a screen reader, check the box to include descriptive text for image.
    • Click the Options or Logic tabs for more customization options.
  6. Click Save.

Before you send your survey, preview your survey design to see what your survey will look like to people taking it.

Under the Edit, Options, and Logic tabs, you can further customize the question in the following ways:

Image Choice questions are easy to analyze since they are closed-ended. You can create Filter and Compare rules to break down your survey results, and every chart type is available for this question.

Images don't display in the Analyze results page. Instead, if you added captions to the images, you’ll see those displayed in the chart. Otherwise, answer choices will be labeled with a number based on the order they appear in the survey. For example, the first image will be labeled Image 1, and the second image will be labeled Image 2.

All export types are available for Image Choice questions.
